If you are like me, then you probably juggle with a number of shared development and UAT environments for SharePoint. Sometimes the servers just stop responding – and you can’t get them to hem even with Remote Desktop (MSTSC). Then the only option left is a remote reset of the server.

To do one all you need is to open the command line and use the shutdown command. The /r switch is to trigger a Reset after shutdown and /m is the name of the remote server

CMD> Shutdown /r /m \\<Server Name>
